Tim Heberden
Managing Director, Brand Finance (Australia) Pty Limited
Tim has extensive experience of intangible asset valuation, transfer pricing, and brand strategy. He has an MBA and is a Chartered Accountant, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Tim has advised leading companies in Australia, Asia, Europe and Japan. He has acted as an expert witness in intellectual property disputes, and advises the Australian Taxation Office on cases involving the valuation and transfer pricing of intangible assets.
He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Sydney, where he presents a course on ‘Evaluation Marketing Performance’ for the Master of Marketing. Tim is a member of the Oceania Valuations Board of RICS, and chaired the ICAA’s NSW Business Valuation Special Interest Group between 2007 and 2010. He is a judge on Australia’s Advertising Effectiveness Awards and Market Research Effectiveness Award.
His publications include a chapter on royalty rate determination for ‘International Licensing and Technology Transfer: Practice and the Law’ (Wolters Kluwer Law & Business).
Prior to joining Brand Finance’s UK office in 1998, Tim worked for the BBC, KPMG and founded an award winning media company in South Africa.
