William E Barker is the Managing Director of Brand Finance, USA.
With an MBA in finance (with an emphasis in valuation) from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and, earlier, an engineering degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Mr. Barker has personally led acquisitions; brand development; innovation initiatives; private equity, project and venture capital investments; strategic business development and turnarounds.
Mr. Barker has held the positions of President, Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer in affiliation with or on behalf of Blackstone, Bank of America, Caisse de Depot, Continental Airlines, GE Capital, IBM, InvestCorp and others.
In his current capacity at Brand Finance, USA, Mr. Barker leads a team of brand savvy financial professionals capable of meeting the full range of brand valuation challenges: from technical applications to those requiring broad strategic consultation.
A frequent speaker on valuation, Mr. Barker is also active on corporate and non-profit boards.
Because of his background in Web, marketing, communications and brand strategy, he has the unique ability to develop and guide the implementation of strategy across media, a skill clients such as Engelhard Corporation value to help maximize their potential.
Hampton Bridwell
Hampton Bridwell is president of BrandLogic and oversees client engagements in all practice areas as well as providing clients with brand and identity strategy and consultation. Hampton has 15 years of experience in corporate brand identity and marketing communications, and he is the co-founding partner of BrandLogic. In the financial services arena, he has led significant engagements with The Hartford, UBS, JPMorgan, St. John’s, Art Institutes, and TIAA-CREF.
His particular emphasis is on advising companies how to leverage their identity program to achieve business objectives. He has provided the strategic direction for the development and implementation of brand platforms, identity systems, brand management, and corporate communications for clients such as Avon, BD, Engelhard, IBM, Merck, Texaco, Wyeth, and Xerox.
A frequent speaker on corporate identity issues, Hampton is continuously exploring new methods for corporations to leverage their brand platform and identity programs to build business value.
Hampton is an active artist and also competes in North American Off-road Rally Racing. After living in Colorado, Louisiana, New York, and Texas, Hampton has settled in Connecticut with his wife, young son, and daughter.
Professor Don E. Schultz
Don E. Schultz is presently Professor of Integrated Marketing Communications at the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University. Don has consulted, lectured and held seminars on integrated marketing communication, marketing, advertising, sales promotion, and communication management at an international level.
In 1998, Don was named one of the ’80 Most Influential People’ in sales and marketing in the world by ‘Sales & Marketing Management Magazine’. Don works with Brand Finance Inc. as an Executive Director and has been with Brand Finance since 2000.
