2nd Oxford Global Islamic Branding and Marketing Forum

‘The Muslim World Today’

12 July 2012, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Saïd Business School, University of Oxford

Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford will host its 2nd Oxford Global Islamic Branding and Marketing Forum on 12 July at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The theme of the Forum is ‘The Muslim World Today’. It will bring together Muslim and non-Muslim leaders and companies from the UK, USA, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia to discuss the key issues, opportunities and challenges in engaging the growing Muslim market.

It is estimated that the market for Shariah compliant products is currently worth over USD$2 trillion. Muslim consumers present a strong voice that the globalised world of business is paying more attention to, but has yet to fully understand. Muslim companies that want to capitalise on this global market face major challenges to learn and apply successful branding and marketing skills and techniques.

The Forum will offer insight into the latest understanding of Muslim markets and consumers. What market entry strategies are successful, what advertising and communication plans are most effective? What are the marketing opportunities and challenges for the global Halal industry, including lifestyle products and services, food, finance and the digital world?

It seeks to discuss some of the key questions facing businesses and organisations reaching out to the Muslim market; how can organisations engage the modern Muslim consumer? Do standard branding and marketing strategies apply? Do the same strategies apply globally?

Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss how to develop better trade and business relations and to learn from each other about these markets.
